IAC BOYS SOCCER: NEWARK VALLEY DROPS OPENER TO DRYDEN (September 6, 2019)

NEWARK VALLEY — All-state standout Casey Phillips scored five goals to lead Dryden to an 8-1 IAC Large School victory over Newark Valley in the season opener for both teams Thursday.

Nathan Sokol scored the Cardinals' goal.

Dryden outshot NV, 12-5, and held a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks. NV had seven saves and the Purple Lions had three.

Newark Valley visits Whitney Point Tuesday.
