Sam Buchsbaum doubled to score Camden Thole, who walked, to get things going in the top of the first, then tallied on an error off the bat of Dylan Gregory.

Ryan Diedrich, who also walked, scored what proved to be the winning run on an error. Elijah Wheeler's ground out following walks to Hayden Blenco and Cayden Smith scored Gregory. Rocco Canfield singled home Blenco for a 5-0 cushion.

Wheeler and Thole singled in the second and, following an out on the base paths, Buchbaum smacked his second double of the game to plate Thole and make it 6-0.

Owego's final run came in the fourth after Canfield doubled, Nolan Card and Elijah Wheeler drew walks, and Thole was hit by a pitch.

Buchsbaum went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBI, and Canfield was 2-for-2 with a run and RBI to pace Owego at the plate.

Thole was 1-for-1 with two runs and an RBI and Jeremiah Wheeler went 1-for-2. Gregory contributed a run and an RBI, Elijah Wheeler drove in a run.

Card pitched the first three innings, striking out seven while scattering three hits and three walks. Diedrich threw one inning, giving up one hit and fanning one.

Binghamton 6, Owego 2
Owego forfeited the game in the bottom of the second inning due to concerns over the heat.

On Friday, the National Weather Service issued a severe weather alert for the weekend and warned people to be cautious of extreme heat. The temperature at Glenwood Park was expected to reach as high as 96 degrees Sunday.
