GIRLS BASKETBALL: OWEGO TRIO EARNS ALL-STATE HONORS (2019-05-21)

OWEGO — A trio of Owego standouts have been named to Class B all-state teams by the New York State Sportswriters Association.

Junior Guard Kaci Donovan was selected to the first team, sophomore forward Evee Coleman earned seventh team honors and senior guard Anna Felice was selected for the 14th team.

Donovan led the Indians (19-2, 18-0) to STAC and Section IV runner-up finishes and eclipsed the 1,000-point mark this season. She set school records for points in a season (542), points in a game (35) twice and field goals in a season (205).

Coleman set new school records for blocked shots in a game (10) and a season (65). She also set a new school mark for single season field goal percentage at 62 percent.

Donovan averaged 25.8 points per game, connected for 30 3-pointers and shot 78 percent at the free throw line. She also contributed 6.8 rebounds, 3.8 steals, 3.7 assists and 0.7 blocks per game.

Coleman was dominant in the paint at both ends of the court. The forward averaged a double-double in scoring and rebounding (17.1 points, 10.4 rebounds), and posted 3.3 blocks per contest.

Felice scored 13.1 points and dished out 4.3 assists per game. She also averaged 2.7 steals and 2.5 rebounds.

Donovan and Felice are repeat all-state selections. All three were named Basketball Coaches Association of New York Section IV All-Stars and chosen as repeat STAC Metro division all-stars.

Donovan was named Tioga County Sports Report’s inaugural “Player of the Year” and Coleman was chosen TCSR’s first “Defensive Player of the Year”
