IAC TRACK & FIELD: JENSEN LEADS CANDOR ON DAY ONE OF LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS (8 PHOTOS) (2019-05-17)

TRUMANSBURG, N.Y. — Lance Jensen won the 100-meter dash to lead the Candor effort on day one of the IAC Track & Field Championships here Thursday.

Jensen posted a time of 11.56 seconds in the finals, besting the 11.65 he ran in the preliminaries.

Cory Whatley, Christian Haynes, Caleb Vaow and Jeb Parillo comprised the 4x800 relay team which placed fourth overall and first in the Small School division (no time listed).

Vaow was the top Small School competitor in the steeplechase, his time of 11:11.26 being good for fifth overall.

Ty Benners, Nash Whitmore, Joao Bessa and Haynes were seventh overall in the 4x100 relay preliminaries with a time of 48.25 seconds.

In the girls meet, the Candor quartet of Leah and Jenna O’Connell, Olivia Bennett and Sidney Brown were sixth in the Small School 4x800 relay and 12th overall, posting a time of 12.16.7.

The 4x100 relay group of Rebecca Holmes, Alexis Kane, Brown and Mya Marsh were sixth in Small School and 12th overall in the preliminaries with a time of 58.34 seconds.

The meet concludes today, starting at 4:45 p.m.
