BINGHAMTON — Nine Owego batters recorded hits to lead the Indians to a 15-1 rout of Binghamton here Wednesday.

The visitors would take advantage of four first-inning errors to build a 3-0 cushion in the top of the first inning and they never looked back. Emma Stephenson, Grace Thomas and Taylor Aubel accounted for the early runs.

The Patriots plated their lone run following a triple an error in the second.

Owego added a run in the fourth on a Jordan Greeno base hit and a Stephenson RBI single.

Summer Pierce, Anna Felice and Emma Howe added runs in the fifth, with Howe and Stephenson driving in runs, to push the lead to 7-1.

The Indians made it 10-1 in the sixth on runs by Abby Shirley, Aubel and Pierce. Felice and Greeno drove in runs to contribute to the effort.

Owego tacked on five more runs in the seventh, sending 10 batters to the plate. Stephenson, Thomas, Sarah Haskell, Chelsea Sellars and Pierce did the scoring. Ashleigh Allen had two RBI, and Howe and Haskell drove in a run apiece.

Howe paced the Indians at the plate with three hits. Shirley, Summers, Pierce and Felice contributed two hits apiece. Stephenson, Thomas, Greeno and Haskell added one hit each.

Sellars picked up the win, striking out six while scattering eight hits, walking one and hitting one batter.

Owego hosts U-E at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
