Julia Russell placed second in the 4x400-meter relay and third in the individual 400 at the Allegany County Classic April 2.
A freshman at Alfred State College, she posted a time of 1:07.97 in the 400. In the relay, Russell teamed with Kathryn Watkins, Katherine O’Buckley and Katherine Frascella for a time of 5:23.39.
Alfred State defeated Alfred University, 59-50, but lost to Houghton College, 63-48, and Daemen College, 92-42.
On Friday, Russell teamed with Alexis Carrington, Emily Brigman and Mikaylah Ruhl to finish fifth in the 4x400 relay at the Cortland Friday Night Under the Lights Invitational, clocking 5:29.72.
