NY STATE WRESTLING: NV’S CREELEY, CALLAHAN; OWEGO’S LOVELL DRAW TOP 10 SEEDS (February 25, 2026)

Tioga County Sports Report
ALBANY — Newark Valley seniors Cadin Creeley and Titus Callahan, and Owego 7th-grader Gavin Lovell have been seeded among the top 10 in their respective weight classes for the 2026 NYSPHSAA Wrestling Championships which will be held Friday and Saturday at MVP Arena here.

Creeley and Callahan were state qualifiers in 2024, but didn’t finish among the top three at their weights at the Section IV Division II tournament last year. Creeley posted a 2-2 record at states at 152 pounds while Callahan weighed less than 165 pounds when he went 0-2 at 190 in his state debut.

Competing at 165 this season, Creeley is seeded sixth with a 32-3 record. Following a first round bye, he will face the winner of No. 11 Grady Collins (29-7) from Section IX’s Our Lady of Lourdes and No. 22 Connor Fabian (26-8) of Mount Sinai from Section XI.

Back at 190, Callahan (36-4) is seeded ninth. He receives a bye to start, then faces eighth-seeded Aiden Brito (18-3) from Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy of the Public Schools Athletic League in New York City.

Lovell (28-8) is seeded 10th at 103 and starts out with a bye, then takes on Tioga’s Drayke Ulrich (36-11), the No. 7 seed.

Other Tioga County qualifiers include:

Tioga’s returning state champion, Declan McKee, the top seed at 103; Jayden Duncanson, a four-time place-winner who is seeded third at 138; two-time state placer Logan Bellis, No. 5 at 118; 2024 bronze medalist Kadin Cole, No. 7 at 126; Parker Jackson, No. 21 at 110; and Caden Bradley, No. 22 at 144.

Waverly’s 2024 champion and 2025 runner-up Troy Beeman, No. 3 at 285; 2025 fifth-place finishers Rhylee Stotler and Cooper Robinson, seeded fifth at 126 and fourth at 157, respectively; 2024 place-winner Matthias Welles, No. 4 at 215; and Daltton Davis, No. 9 at 138. Davis was a state qualifier in 2025, but didn’t compete at states due to Hodgkin lymphoma disease and Welles’ 2025 season was cut short by injury.

Friday’s opening ceremonies start at 9:30 a.m. with the first round of wrestling beginning at 10 a.m. On Saturday, wrestling starts at 9:30 a.m. The consolation finals will begin at 2:15 p.m. The championship finals opening ceremony starts at 5:50 p.m., followed by the championship finals at 6:05 p.m.

The tournament will be streamed live on Thursday on www.nfhsnetwork.com/associations/nysphsaa/wrestling.
