SECTION IV BOYS BASKETBALL: CANDOR SEEDED FIFTH IN TOUGH CLASS C BRACKET (February 20, 2026)

CANDOR — The Section IV Class C Boys Basketball Championships are loaded this year with six state-ranked teams and one honorable mention in the mix.
Candor (15-3) is seeded fifth for sectionals and will host 12th-seeded Groton in the first round.
With a victory, the Coyotes will travel to Union Springs on Feb. 28 to face the No. 4 Wolves (17-3) in a 6 p.m. clash.
The semifinals will be played March 3 at Tompkins Cortland Community College at a time to be determined.
The championship game will be held at TC3 on March 7 at 4 p.m.
Union Springs, Candor’s opponent in the IAC Small School championship game tonight at TC3 at 7:45 p.m., is ranked eighth in the state. The Coyotes are ranked 12th.
Elmira Notre Dame (15-3), the top seed, is ranked 11th in the state. Seventh-seeded Moravia (17-3) is ranked sixth, sixth-seeded Unatego/Franklin (15-4) is ranked 16th, second-seeded Delhi (15-3) is ranked 17th, and third-seeded Trumansburg is an honorable mention.
