SECTION IV GIRLS BASKETBALL: CANDOR EARNS NO. 5 SEED IN CLASS C (February 20, 2026)

CANDOR — Candor has earned the No. 5 seed for the Section IV Class C Girls Basketball Championships. The Coyotes (14-3) will host No. 12 Newfield (9-10) at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The winner advances to the quarterfinals on Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. If Candor and Moravia win in the first round, the fourth-seeded Blue Devils will be the home team. If Odessa-Montour upsets Moravia, the game will be played at Candor.

The semifinals will be played March 3 at Tompkins Cortland Community College at a time to be determined.

TC3 will host the championship game on Match 7 at 2 p.m.

There are four Section IV teams which have earned state poll recognition. Delhi is No. 8, Bainbridge-Guilford is No. 10 Union Springs is No. 14 and Moravia is an honorable mention.

Candor faces Union Springs at 6 p.m. this evening at TC3 for the IAC Small School championship.
