IAC BOWLING: NEWARK VALLEY, CANDOR GIRLS FINISH 2-3 AT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS; NV BOYS PLACE THIRD (February 15, 2026)

WAVERLY — The Newark Valley and Candor girls placed second and third, respectively, at the IAC Girls Bowling Championships held at Valley Bowling Center here Saturday. The Cardinals were also third in the IAC Boys Bowling Championships.

GIRLS
Newark Valley rolled a 2406 series, finishing just 10 pins behind team champion Tioga in the eight team event.

Candor posted a 2339 series, well ahead of the fourth-place team, Lansing, which shot 2013.

Tioga carried an 804 team average while NV was right behind at 801 and the Coyotes averaged a 778.

The Tigers’ high game was an 860 and the Cardinals’ was an 849. There was no high game listed for Candor.

BOYS
Newark Valley finished with a 2727 series, beating out Watkins Glen’s 2696. The Cardinals carried a 907 average and rolled a high game of 920.

Candor’s undermanned squad placed ninth with a 1070. The Coyotes had a 716 average.

Tioga posted a 2982 series to best Lansing’s 2904 for first place. The Tigers’ average was a 993 and their high game was an 1101.
