STAC GIRLS BASKETBALL: SEARLES FREE THROWS, McEVOY TREYS CARRY OWEGO PAST VESTAL (February 12, 2026)

VESTAL — Marielle Searles went 12-for-14 at the free throw line and Jenna McEvoy knocked down five 3-pointers to carry Owego past Vestal, 55-46, in STAC girls basketball crossover action here Thursday.
Both players hit from beyond the arc and Searles added three free throws to score 10 points as the River Hawks took the first quarter.
Vestal kept Searles off the scoreboard in Q2 while McEvoy added another trey, but the Golden Bears rallied to grab a 25-23 edge at the half.
Owego put up 18 points in the third period to surge back in front, 41-38. Searles had half the River Hawks’ points, going 7-for-8 at the line, and McEvoy drained a pair of threes as the duo combined for 15 points.
Both players hit a trey in the final frame and Searles scored seven points.
Searles recorded a double-double with 26 points and 10 rebounds, and added one block. McEvoy scored 16 points, dished out four assists, and tacked on three steals and three boards.
Eva Crawford pulled down 16 rebounds to go with eight points, two blocks, two assists and two 2 steals; and Jana Nikulich contributed five points, five rebounds, three steals and one assist. Ashlyn Dalton had six boards, four rebounds, and three steals; Keely Wicklund added two assists; and Katelyn Dodge tacked on a block and a rebound.
Tedessa DiRenzo led the Bears with 21 points and Jenna Holleran added 10.
Owego (12-7) hosts Corning on Tuesday at 6 p.m. (no JV).
