SECTION IV GIRLS WRESTLING: SVEC’S BEACH DRAWS TOP SEED; SEEKS THIRD TITLE (February 12, 2026)

BINGHAMTON — Spencer-Van Etten / Candor standout Tayah Beach has been seeded first at 120 pounds for the Section IV Girls Wrestling Championships, which will be held at Visions Veterans Memorial Arena here Friday.
The senior, 31-4 on the season according to
trackwrestling.com, is ranked 11th in the state by
New York Wrestling News. Those setbacks have come against three opponents, all of whom are ranked in the top 10 in the state in their respective weight classes, and are a combined 87-7.
Beach is the only Tioga County competitor to draw a No. 1 seed.

Tioga has five wrestlers entered and Waverly has eight.
For the Tigers, Amelia Toomey (138) and Kyah Nelson (185) are seeded second, and Marcy Moniz (145) is seeded third. Seeded eighth are Mia Hall (114) and Sophia Haney (126).
The Wolverines’ top seeds are Gianna Rylott (3td at 100), Emma Vanderhoof (3rd at 132) and Elona Holmes (3rd at 152). Gianna Zieniuk (145) is seeded fifth, Abby Sickler (114) and Amelia Wright (126) are seeded sixth, Jillianna Presher (138) is the 7th seed and Sydney Rosenbloom (107) is a No. 8 seed.
Wrestling begins at noon with the doors opening to the public at 10:30 a.m. with the championship finals beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased through FanGo.
