IAC BOWLING: NEWARK VALLEY WINS 7 OF 8 POINTS AGAINST CANDOR (February 6, 2026)

NEWARK VALLEY — The Newark Valley boys bowling team swept an undermanned Candor opponent, 4-0, in IAC bowling at Cardinal Lanes Thursday while the NV girls topped the Coyotes, 3-1.
BOYS
NV 4, Candor 0
The Cardinals won by scores of 858-615, 878-507 and 905-500, and took the total pinfall, 2641-1622 over Candor’s three-man crew.
NV’s Devon Green had the top series of the day, 676, with games of 256, 206 and 214.
William Simmons rolled a 219 and 213 to finish with a 543 series. Mason Peck added a 186-485, John Sloughter shot a 181-467, Reese Illsley had a 149-431, and Kaleb Jackson tacked on a 149-417.
The Coyotes were led by Malcolm Jackson, who scored 243 and 209 on the way to a 639 series. Connor Kellogg had a 194-544 and Stanley Winnick shot a 178-439.
GIRLS
NV 3, Candor 1
The Coyotes took the first game, 702-689, but NV came back to get the next two, 796-687 and 820-711, and won total pinfall, 2305-2100.
The Cardinals’ Brook Illsley led the ladies with a 226-568. Rachel Hartman scored a 238-545, Abigail DeBolt had a 204-509, Maeanna Jackson added a 126-358 and Stormi Wiley had a 114-325. NV was without Abigal Dufresne who was out with an illness.
Calli Marsh paced Candor with a 188-539, Zoe Travis shot a 169-454, Makenna Nixon rolled a 143-385, Kyrsten Jackson added a 129-371, Allison Johnston had a 121-347 and Teresa Kern added a 124-325.
Newark Valley heads to Lansing on Monday and Candor visits Watkins Glen on Tuesday.
