IAC GIRLS BASKETBALL: S-VE DEFENSE STUMPS TIOGA, 31-15 (February 6, 2026)

TIOGA CENTER — The Spencer-Van Etten girls basketball team kept Tioga away from the basket for the most part en route to a 31-15 victory in IAC South Small School action here Friday evening.

Neither team did much scoring in a 2-2 first quarter draw that had the Panthers’ Lauren Gillette and Tigers’ Adrienne Delmage account for the only baskets.

Gillette tacked on four more points in the second period while Kendall Gentile and Emma Neish canned one 3-pointer each for S-VE in an 11-4 run that gave the visitors a 13-6 halftime lead.

Kate Kithcart and Kayah Nelson recorded one bucket each for Tioga.

S-VE took the third period, 15-5, to extend its advantage to 28-11. Kaidince Root and Trinity Dashler scored seven and six points, respectively, and Kaylee Kastenhuber tacked on two for the Panthers.

Delmage knocked down a trey and Kaylynne Miller had two points for the Tigers.

Gillette had three more points in the final frame while Kithcart had four and Delmage one.

Gillette paced S-VE with nine points, 10 rebounds and an assist; Root finished with eight points, three steals, three assists and three rebounds; Dashler added six points and two boards; and Gentile had three points, five boards, two steals and one assist.

Neish contributed three points and one steal; Kastenhuber had two points, two rebounds and an assist; Amani Diboun chipped in with seven boards, two assists and a steal; Maddy Ellison added a steal and a rebound; and Kelsea Swayze grabbed three boards.

Delmage led Tioga with six points, Kithcart had five, and Nelson and Miller added two apiece.

S-VE closes out the season on Tuesday against Newfield at home.
