SECTION IV WRESTLING: OWEGO’S LOVELL EARNS TOP SEED, SIROTKIN IS NO. 2 FOR QUALIFIER A (February 6, 2026)

WAVERLY — Owego 7th grader Gavin Lovell has earned a top seed for Section IV Division II Qualifier A, which will be held here Saturday.

Lovell, coming off a pair of upsets to win a STAC championship, is seeded first at 103 pounds. He is 23-6 on the season.

Teammate Vitaliy Sirotkin (22-9), a sophomore, is seeded second behind Edison’s Mason Vanderhoff (27-4) who placed second in the section last year. Sirotkin took sixth.

John Cornwell (22-4) comes in as the third seed at 132 while Robbie Curley (19-11) and Trevor Monell (19-15) are seeded fourth at 118 and 215, respectively. Cael Daly (11-4) is joining Lovell at 103 and is the No. 4 seed.

Also competing for the River Hawks are Jaydin Brainard (5-18, 7th at 175), Anthony Neumuth (6-17, 7th at 285), Mamas Gehring (6-6, 8th at 132), Omari Washington (4-5, 10th at 157), Carson Desmond (5-10, 12th at 126) and Jayce Saulsbury (4-10, 12th at 150).
