SECTION IV WRESTLING: SVEC’S BREED DRAWS NO. 2 SEED, THREE OTHERS SEEDED THIRD FOR QUALIFIER B (February 6, 2026)

NEWARK VALLEY — Spencer-Van Etten /Candor junior Connor Breed has drawn the No. 2 seed at 215 pounds for Section IV Division II Qualifier B, which will be held here Saturday.
Breed (17-14) is seeded behind NV’s Wyatt Dillow (16-13).
A trio of Eagles have been seeded third. Senior Rodney Vaow (15-10), who finished sixth in the section last year, will compete at 132. Classmate Kamren Westbrook (24-10) will step on the mat at 138 and Cooper Zufall (12-11) will participate at 175. Both Vaow and Zufall have been hampered by injuries this season, limiting their time on the mat.
Also seeded to advance to next week’s state qualifier is freshman Gabe Benjamin, the fifth seed at 150 with a 20-15 record.
Seeded sixth are juniors Kaden Sims (11-13) at 190 and Jak Smith (19-14) at 285.
Other SVEC competitors include Korbin Brenza (4-25, 10th at 157) and Andrew Kinnetz (0-26, 13th at 126).
