IAC BOYS BASKETBALL: CANDOR HOT FROM BEYOND ARC IN WIN OVER S-VE (February 3, 2026)

CANDOR — The Candor boys basketball team was hot from beyond the arc Tuesday night, draining 21 3-pointers in an 84-20 IAC South Small School victory over Spencer-Van Etten here.
Jakobe Foster, Teagan Kwiatkowski and Kellen Williamson knocked down four treys each, Donald Makie and Mat Smith drained three apiece, Ryan Huizinga added two and Kyron O’Dell tacked on another.
The Coyotes opened the game with a 19-1 first-quarter run that had Smith leading the way with a pair of three-balls.
Makie, Kwiatkowski and Williamson canned two 3-pointers each in the second period as Candor erupted for 33 points and stretched its advantage to 52-5 at halftime.
Keith Hills nailed a pair of treys for S-VE in the third quarter and Foster had two for the Coyotes as they built a 69-14 cushion.
Noah Ingram hit for a pair of 3-pointers for the Panthers and Huizinga added two more treys for Candor in the final frame.
Foster finished with 14 points, eight assists, five rebounds and five steals; Makie chipped in with 13 points, eighth assists, five rebounds and two steals; Huizinga added 12 points, six boards and an assist; Kwiatkowski had 12 points, nine boards and an assist; and Williamson added 12 points, three boards a steal and an assist.
Smith had 11 points, three rebounds, two steals and an assist; O’Dell pitched in with seven points, eight boards, two steals, a block and an assist; James Pritchard scored three points; Kyle Jantz had three assists, three rebounds and a steal; and Ben Sheridan tacked on three boards, a steal and an assist.
Ingram led the Panthers with 10 points, Ingram had seven and Luukas Carling added three.
S-VE hosts Tioga on Thursday while Candor heads to Groton on Friday.
