CORNING — Spencer-Van Etten standout Tayah Beach inched closer to her 30th victory of the season with a pair of falls at the Corning Hawks Round Robin Duals here Saturday.
Competing at 120 pounds, the senior pinned Waverly’s Gabbi Sinsabaugh and Corning’s Morgan Galinski to improve to 29-4 overall.
Ranked No. 1 in Section IV at 120, Beach was 30-10 last season and placed fourth in the state.
Taylor Zufall participated in the duals also, falling to Waverly’s Abby Sickler, 14-9, at 120 and Corning’s Lauren Mahon at 114 by pin.
Mahon (31-6) is ranked second in the section at 114. Zufall is 22-9.
Next up for the Eagles are the Section IV championships on Feb. 13 at Visions Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton. Beach will be vying for her third consecutive individual title.
