SECTION IV CHEERLEADING: S-VE COMPETES IN WILDCATS WINTER COMPETITION (February 1, 2026)

Tioga County Sports Report
JOHNSON CITY — The Spencer-Van Etten cheerleading squad competed in the Wildcats Winter Competition held here Saturday.

The Panthers competed in the Class D division along with Newark Valley, Tioga, Watkins Glen and Seton Catholic.

NV scored 56.75 points to edge out Tioga, who had 56.4 points, for runner-up honors. Seton Catholic took first place with 59.85 points.

Horseheads was named grand champion, scoring 90.9 points during the event. The Blue Raiders won the Class B title with Maine-Endwell second in the class with 48.45 points.

Elmira won Class A with 69.3 points and Corning was second with 43.

Waverly took second in Class C with 55.1 points. Chenango Valley won Class C with 73.35 points. Windsor was third with 53.25 points. Also competing in Class C were Susquehanna and Whitney Point.

The STAC championships will be held next Sunday at Union-Endicott. Newark Valley will host the IAC championships on Feb. 13. The Section IV championships will take place Feb. 28 at Chenango Valley and the state championships will be held at Visions Veterans Memorial Arena on March 7.
