IAC BOYS BASKETBALL: RED-HOT CANDOR ROLLS OVER TIOGA, 93-24 (January 27, 2026)

TIOGA CENTER — Candor's red-hot stretch continued Tuesday night with a 93-24 rout of Tioga in IAC South Small School Division girls basketball action.

Candor has now scored 93 or more points in each of its last three games, scoring 102 and 98, respectively, in its last two game. The Coyotes have made 38 3-pointers in their last three games, including 17 at Tioga Tuesday.

The Coyotes were in a ball game for one quarter, with Donald Makie scoring seven points, including one 3-pointer, and Teagan Kwiatkowski connecting on a pair of 3-pointers, to help them to an 18-11 lead after the opening stanza.

The rest of the game was all Candor.

Jakobe Foster and Makie, who drained three more 3-pointers, scored nine points apiece in the second quarter, and Kwiatkowski added five points, including another 3-pointer, to fuel a 23-4 blitz that gave the Coyotes a 41-15 lead at the half.

Foster knocked down a trio of 3-pointers and scored 13 points in the third quarter, while Makie and Smith, who drained a pair of treys, added six points apiece in a 27-7 run that extended the lead to 68-22 heading into the final eight minutes.

Candor didn't slow at all in the final stanza as Kwiatkowski scored eight points, including two 3-pointers, Smith scored seven, including a trey, and Kellen Williamson and Ben Sheridan each connected from behind the 3-point arch in a game-closing 25-2 blitz.

Foster led Candor with 25 points, including a trio of 3-pointers, seven rebounds, five assists, three steals, and one block, while Makie had 25 points (four 3-pointers), six rebounds, five assists, and four steals, and Kwiatkowski had 19 points (five 3-pointers), three rebounds, and two steals.

Smith had 13 points (three 3-pointers), three rebounds and two assists in the win, while Williamson had five points and three rebounds,  Kyron O'Dell added four points, four boards and three blocked shots, Sheridan contributed four assists and four steals, and Ryan Huizinga chipped in with three steals and one blocked shot.

Gavin Kithcart had nine points, 10 rebounds, and two assists, and Dominic Palmer scored nine points and grabbed 11 boards to lead Tioga.

Candor returns to action Friday at Newfield.
