INDOOR TRACK & FIELD: OWEGO’S CHRYSLER, MCHUGH WIN AT FROZEN FIVE INVITE (January 23, 2026)

CORTLAND — Owego’s Jaelyn Chrysler and Abigail McHugh ran to victory at the Frozen Five Invitational held Thursday at SUNY Cortland University.

Chrysler posted a time of 3:18.76 in the 1,000-meter run, crossing the finish line about 3 ¾ seconds ahead of the runner-up.

McHugh clocked 5:10.74 in the 1500, winning by more than five seconds.

Both runners competed in the 500 with Chrysler placing fifth in 1:33.82 and Mchugh taking 10th with a time of 1:39.23.

Sarah Heath was the River Hawks’ top finisher in the 500, taking fourth in 1:33.53.

Heath was also seventh in the 1,000 in 3:37.71.

In the boys meet, Maxwell Thompson came in fourth in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.23 seconds while Ryker Chrysler was fourth in the 500 in 1:15.57.

The 4x400 relay was third, recording a time of 4:01.54.
