WINDSOR — Owego’s Michaela Daly wrestled to a 5th-place finish at the Windsor Lady Black Knights Invitational here Monday.
Competing at 114 pounds, she posted a 5-1 record on the day. Her first match was a tight one with her defeating Homer’s Abby Aldrich, 8-6. She followed that with a win by pin against Sidney’s Dylan Casey in 5:43, before losing by fall to Homer’s Anna Aldrich in 39 seconds.
Daly bounced back with a fall in 1:53 over Valley Central’s Sabrina Mandeville before scoring a 12-2 tech fall against Spencer-Van Etten/Candor’s Taylor Zufall in 3:30. She met Abby Aldrich a second time in the placement round and won another close one, 6-4.
Lauren Kotski was 3-2 at 138. Her wins all came via pins in less than one minute each. She decked Union-Endicott’s Rosi Matizia in 16 seconds, then dispatched Elana Glova of Dolgeville in 24 seconds and Hailey Jackson of Port Jervis in 57 seconds.
Ashlee Crawford-Bauer went 2-2 at 107. Her victories were a 29-second fall over Canisteo-Greenwood’s Taya Avery and a pin in one minute against Dolgeville’s Tessa Kneller.
Also competing for the River Hawks were Lilli Frechette (152) and Izzy Taylor (165.)
Owego was 28th in the 44-team tournament with 34.5 points. U-E won the team title with 144.5.
