INDOOR TRACK & FIELD: OWEGO’S HEATH WINS HURLEY 600; McHUGH, CHRYSLER, RELAY PLACE HIGH (January 18, 2026)

ITHACA — Owego’s Gavin Heath captured top honors in the 600-meter run at the Hurley Invitational held at Ithaca College Friday.

Heath recorded a time of 1:26.11 to finish at the front of a field of 52 runners.

The River Hawks had three other top three showings with two seconds and a third.

Abigail McHugh was the runner-up in the 3,000 with a time of 11:10.64, crossing the finish line ahead of 15 other runners.

The boys 4x200 relay finished second behind Ithaca with a time of 1:40.21.

Jaelyn Chrysler placed third in a field of 36 competitors in the 1500, clocking 5:16.23.

Neal Cox was eighth in the boys high jump, clearing 5-3, while Sarah Heath was 11th in the 600 in 1:56.16 and Ryker Chrysler was 13th in the 1,000 in 3:00.38.

Stella Palladino qualified third among 92 sprinters in the 55 dash with a time of 7.71 seconds, but was unable to compete in the finals due to a hamstring injury.
