STAC BOWLING: OWEGO BOYS DROP CLOSE BATTLE WITH CV, GIRLS SWEPT (January 14, 2026)

OWEGO — The Owego boys bowling team came close to upsetting STAC Central/East leader Chenango Valley Wednesday, dropping the total pinfall by 50 pins in a 3-2 loss at Owego Bowl. The girls team lost to CV, 5-0.
BOYS
CV 3, Owego 2
The River Hawks took two of the three games, but the total pinfall (worth two points) went to CV, giving the Warriors the win.
CV won the first game, 956-836, then Owego took the next two, 956-922 and 912-876. The Warriors margin of victory in game one was great enough to give them the total pinfall, 2754-2704.
Evan O’Hara led the River Hawks with a 635 series that included games of 231, 203 and 201 while Connor Kotski rolled a 229 and 225 en route to a 619 series.
Grayson Quick added a 190-552, Scott Reigle shot a 188-454 and Ari Lemmon had a 182-444.
Caleb Dancesia led the CV charge with games of 237, 215 and 201, finishing with a 653 series.
The Warriors improved to 27-8 while Owego slipped to 11-14.
GIRLS
CV 5, Owego 0
CV won by scores of 635-532, 573-450 and 696-595, to take the total pinfall, 1904-1577.
Abby Herceg paced the Warriors with a 199-461.
Elaina Anschutz led Owego with a 147-403, Americus Booker rolled a 137-349, Sophiarose Winters had a 111-297, Emma Nixon posted a 136-282 and Madison Kinney added a 108-246.
CV improved to 21-14 and Owego fell to 0-25.
JV BOYS
CV 5, Owego 0
The Warriors won the games with scores of 655-603, 671-598 and 755-678, and the total pinfall, 2081-1879.
Logan Rosenberger led Owego with a 191-423, Logan Vizina scored a 157-383 and Egan Scanlon added a 149-360.
Nick Youells posted a 156 game, John Lillie and Cameron McGowan both rolled 11, and Nate Hatfield tacked on a 110.
CV was led by Alex Domice with a 211-490.
