IAC BOWLING: NEWARK VALLEY SWEEPS US/PB, FALLS TO TIOGA (January 14, 2026)

NEWARK VALLEY — Newark Valley made it a clean sweep of Union Springs / Port Byron in IAC bowling action at Cardinal Lanes here Tuesday as both the girls and boys teams returned to winning form.
The Cardinals lost to Tioga Thursday, the boys falling, 3-1, and the girls dropping a 4-0 verdict.
BOYS
NV 4, US/PB 0
The Cardinals Devon Green rolled the high game of the day, a 226 in his final game, to post a 582 series. John Sloughter scored a 192-519 and Williams Simmons added a 180-492.
Kaleb Jackson contributed a 169-447, Mason Peck added a 185-440 and Reese Illsley tacked on a 149-423.
Kevin Kinnaman led the Wolves with a 206-587 while Zeph Reukauf had the team’s high game with a 209.
NV won with game scores of 824-554, 790-707 and 921-616 to take the total pinfall, 2535-1877.
Tioga 3, NV 1
The Tigers were sizzling hot on the Valley Bowling Center lanes in game one, winning 979-840, and game 3, taking it 987-874. NV would win the second game 901-879, but Tioga grabbed the total pinfall, 2845-2615.
Tioga’s Nick Slater led the charge with a 674 series which included games of 246 and 236, and Charles Holmes added a 234 and 201 for a 630 series.
Kris Swagler rolled a 204-548 and Austin Mumbalo shot a 211-546. Markel Watkins added a 157-430 and Aaron Belles tacked on a 156-387.
For the Cardinals, Green recorded a 195-567, Sloughter shot 198-548 and Peck had a 203-520.
Simmons rolled a 193-492, Reese Illsley had a 182-424 and Kaleb Jackson added a 145-414.
GIRLS
NV 4, US/PB 0
The Cardinals won by scores of 780-337, 730-432 and 772-298, and won the total pinfall, 2282-1067.
Rachel Hartman, who missed the Tioga match, returned to the lineup to post a 203-560. Brooke Illsley chipped in with a 185-476, Abigal Dufresne shot a 148-455 and Abigail DeBolt had a 152-428.
Also contributing were MaeAnna Jackson with a 128-363 and Stormi Wiley with a 114-293.
Stephanie Casbaum paced US/PB, which had just four bowlers, with a 147-337.
Tioga 4, NV 0
Tioga won by scores of 692-523, 699-637 and 758-731, and won the total pinfall, 2149-1891.
The Tigers received a 181-500 from Liberty Magner, a 180-480 from Kelsey Helmich and a 149-403 from Katie Bleiler.
Sabrina Ellis pitched in with a 159-396, Kelsey Ellis contributed a 138-370 and Madison Joyce had a 101-290.
Dufresne and Brook Illsley shared NV's high series with 416s. Dufresne’s high game was a 195 and Illsley’s was a 161.
MaeAnna Jackson rolled a 147-402, DeBolt added a 129-343 and Wiley had a 123-314.
