STAC WRESTLING: OWEGO DROPS SUS VALLEY, 45-36, IMPROVES TO 2-2 (January 13, 2026)

OWEGO — The youthful Owego wrestling team claimed victory in eight of the 14 weight classes to defeat Susquehanna Valley, 45-36, in STAC action here Tuesday, improving to 2-2 in dual meets.

Vitaliy Sirotkin (110 pounds) and Robert Curley (118) recorded falls in 50 seconds and 30 seconds, respectively, with Sirotkin decking Jaxson Polhamus and Curley dispatching Tristan Stoechel.

Trevor Monell picked up the River Hawks’ other fall, pinning David McCracken with five seconds remaining in the second period of their 215-pound bout.

Owego’s Mamas Gehring won by injury default over Tristan Farley at 138 while Joe Monell battled past the Sabers’ Alex Farley in a tight 2-0 decision.

John Cornwell (132), Sullivan Morgan (144) and Omari Washington (157) received forfeit wins for Owego.

Sirotkin passed last season’s win total, improving to 19-8. Cornwell and Trevor Monell inched closer to the 20-in mark as well. Cornwell is 18-9 and Monell is 17-12.
