TIOGA COUNTY — With the holiday season in the rear-view mirror, the high school sports schedule ramps up in the first full week of 2026.

There are 32 events on this week's docket, including nine on Tuesday and eight on Friday.

The following are all of the home varsity events this week, and a few of the notable road events:

MONDAY (1)
•  SVEC hosts BGAH in a girls wrestling dual.

TUESDAY (9)
•  The Candor girls host Small School hoop rival O-M.

•  The Newark Valley girls host Trumansburg in IAC crossover hoop action.

•  S-VE hosts Newfield in an IAC Small School boys basketball contest.

•  Candor hosts Newark Valley on the lanes at the Owego Bowl.

WEDNESDAY (5)
•  Newark Valley is on the road for a key IAC wrestling dual at Tioga.

•  The Owego bowlers are on the road for a key STAC match at Waverly.

THURSDAY (3)
•  Owego hosts Chenango Forks in a STAC wrestling dual.

•  Candor hosts Watkins Glen on the hardwoods at the Owego bowl.

FRIDAY (8)
•  The SVEC boys and girls are in action at the fourth annual Southern Tier Memorial Open.

•  Newark Valley hosts Lansing in IAC girls basketball action.

•  The Candor girls host Marathon on the hoop hardwoods.

•  The S-VE girls host Union Springs in IAC crossover hoop action.

SATURDAY (6)
•  SVEC wrestlers at Day 2 of Southern Tier Memorial.

•  Owego hosts its annual River Hawks Round-Robin wrestling duals.

•  The Owego boys swim team is in action at the Wolverine Invite.
