HS INDOOR TRACK & FIELD: HEATH WINS 300 TO LEAD OWEGO AT QUINNEY INVITE (January 3, 2026)

ITHACA — Gavin Heath won his second 300-meter dash of the season at the Quinney Invitational held at Cornell University’s Barton Hall here Saturday.
Heath recorded a time of 36.37 seconds. It was his third win of the winter, having taken the 600 run at the first meet of the season.
In the girls meet, Abigail McHugh and Stella Palladino highlighted the River Hawks’ effort with runner-up finishes. McHugh posted a time of 5:53 in the 1500 run while Palladino clocked 7.52 seconds in the 55 dash.
BOYS
Magavin Allen contributed a top 10 finish in the 600 with a time of 1:34.86. The 4x800 relay placed fifth in 9:06.16 and the 4x200 relay was eighth in 1:42.77.
Javan Belokur took 12th in the 1,000 (2:34.23), Lukas Wolp was 16th in the 600 (1:44.97), Ryker Chrysler finished 18th in the 300 (:42.09) and Trace Hall was 20th in the 55 dash (:07.1).
Neal Cox and Cadon Wasielewski both logged a pair of top 20 efforts. Cox took 18th in the long jump with a leap of 17-2 ¼ and 20th in the 300 (:42.92) while Wasielewski was 17th in the 1600 (5:31.03) and 20th in the 1,000 (3:11.42).
GIRLS
Palladino added a sixth-place finish in the 300 with a time of 44.98 seconds and Jaelyn Chrysler was sixth in the 1,000, clocking 3:26.54.
Chrysler and Sarah Heath placed 11th and 12th, respectively, in the 600. Chrysler had a time of 1:57.15 with Heath crossing the finish line in 2:00.54.
Heatn, Chrysler, McHugh and Palladino teamed up to place sith in the 4x400 relay in 4:53.31.
Next up for Owego is the Hurley Invitational at Ithaca College on Jan. 16.
