IAC WRESTLING: VAOW SVEC'S LONE WRESTLER ALIVE AT WINDSOR TOURNAMENT (24 PHOTOS) (December 29, 2025)
Tioga County Sports ReportWINDSOR — Senior Rodney Vaow is the only SVEC wrestler alive, and is just one win away from the podium here at the annual Windsor Christmas Wrestling Tournament.
Vaow posted a 2-1 record in the 132-pound weight class at Day 1 of the Windsor Tournament.
Vaow scored a 10-1 major decision win over Manhasset's Jack Carroll in the opening round, but lost via second-period fall to Poquoson's Jared Goodson in the quarterfinals.
Vaow bounced back with a 10-2 major decision over Windsor's Cooper Axtell to stay alive for Day 2.
Vaow will face Oxford-Greene's Cade Mustin in the "blood round" Tuesday morning.
Senior Kam Westbrook was 2-2 in the 138-pound bracket.
Westbrook scored a pin of South Jefferson's Jaxon Bush in 1:32 in the opening round, then lost via second-period technical fall to top-seeded Landyn Shaffer of Deposit-Hancock in the round-of-16.
Westbrook bounced back with a 16-0 technical fall of U-E's Kanye Hunt in 4:12, but was eliminated via a second-period technical fall at the hands of Burnt Hills' Daniel Jones.
Junior Connor Breed was 1-2 in the 215-pound bracket, winning his first wrestleback match via fall over Susquehanna Valley's David McCracken in 1:35.
Junior Jak Smith was 1-2 in the 285-pound weight class, winning his first match in the consolation bracket, pinning Chenango Forks' Cason Caiati in 58 seconds.
Freshman Gabe Benjamin went 0-2 in the 150-pound bracket, junior Korbin Brenza was 0-2 in the 165-pound weight class, and junior Kaden Sims was 0-2 in the 190-pound bracket.
Day 2 action begins at 10 a.m.
