STAC WRESTLING: OWEGO'S SIROTKIN, MONELL, CORNWELL PLACE AT HAINES MEMORIAL TOURNEY (December 28, 2025)
Tioga County Sports ReportOSWEGO — Owego had three wrestlers in the consolation bracket when action began here Monday at Day 2 of the Ken Haines Memorial Tournament at SUNY Oswego, and all three reached the podium.
Sophomore Vitaly Sirotkin placed sixth in the 110-pound bracket, while junior Trevor Monell finished seventh, and sophomore John Cornwell finished eighth.
Sirotkin won by injury default just 19 seconds into his third-round consolation bracket bout against Fulton's Cameron Clear.
Sirotkin lost via second-period fall in the consolation semifinals and the fifth-place match.
Monell lost his first bout Monday via third-period fall, then bounced back in the seventh-place match with a 7-1 win over Liverpool's David Blue Moore.
Cornwell lost his first bout Monday in a 10-6 decision to Fulton's Ryan Stufft. He lost via third-period fall to Newark Valley's Logan Rhodes in the seventh-place match.
Owego returns to action Saturday at the Stan Elisky Tournament at Deposit H.S.
