HS WRESTLING: NEWARK VALLEY TAKES SECOND AT GREG PARTRIDGE DUALS (December 22, 2025)

CORNING — Five wrestlers went undefeated as the Newark Valley wrestling team posted a 4-1 record to take second place at the 8th Annual Greg Partridge Memorial Duals here Saturday.

Logan Woodin, Cadin Creeley and Titus Callahan each won all five of his bouts, while Logan Rhodes was 3-0 and Logan Davis was 2-0.

Callahan recorded four falls and a decision, and was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler for the 150-285 weight classes.

Woodin registered three falls, a major decision and a forfeit while Creeley collected two pins, a tech fall, a major decision and a forfeit.

Rhodes picked up two falls and a decision, and Davis received a pair of forfeits.

Jack Blomberg was 4-1 on the day with a trio of pins and a forfeit; Travis Middendorf was 2-1 with a pin and a forfeit;Marcos Escalante was 2-1 with two forfeit wins.

Jacob Shipman and Wyatt Dillow also finished above the .500 mark, both going 3-2. Shipman pinned all three of his victims and Dillow contributed two falls and a forfeit.

The Cardinals opened the tournament with a 46-32 victory over the host Hawks. Shipman, Middendorf, Rhodes, Woodin and Creeley recorded falls, Callahan racked up a major decision, and Dillow and Blomberg received forfeits.

Round two brought an understaffed Addison team and NV rolled to a 71-12 victory. Picking up pins were Shipman, Woodin, Elijah Williams, Callahan, Dillow and Blomberg. Creeley added a tech fall, and Sheldon Houston, Avery Davis, and Logan Davis, Middendorf and Escalante tacked on forfeits.

NV battled past Elmira, 45-34, in its third match of the day. Falls were registered by Lelik, Creeley, Callahan, Dillow and Blomberg. Woodin contributed a tech fall and Slater added a major decision. Avery Davis tacked on a forfeit.

The match of the day pitted the Cardinals against 8-time Section V defending champion and undefeated Canisteo-Greenwood. The Chargers scored eight bonus-point wins to take the match, 44-28. Creeley claimed a major decision while Rhodes and Callahan won by decision. Houston, Escalante and Woodin accepted forfeits.

The match featured a battle between Callahan and Carson Turner, ranked 15th and 16th, respectively, in the state by New York Wrestling News.

Newark Valley finished the tournament with a 54-29 victory over Penn Yan. Winning by fall were Slater, Shipman, Rhodes, Woodin, Callahan and Blomberg. Also victorious were Lelik, Logan Davis and Creeley by forfeit.

Callahan improved to 20-0 on the season while Creeley is now 19-0. Woodin is 16-2, Escalante is 15-3, Blomberg is 15-5 and Rhodes is 13-5.

The Cardinals (8-2) head to Tioga (2-0) on Jan. 7 to renew their annual rivalry with the Tigers.
