IAC WRESTLING: SVEC GOES 2-3 AT MATT FEDISH DUALS (December 15, 2025)

BINGHAMTON — SVEC posted a 2-3 record at the Matt Fedish Duals here Saturday at Chenango Valley High School.

The Eagles notched wins over Binghamton-Seton Catholic and Cooperstown-Millford, while dropping decisions to Cicero-North Syracuse, Deposit-Hancock and Oneonta.

SVEC 50, Binghamton-Seton Catholic 18
SVEC won three of the five contested weight classes in the match, and had a 30-point advantage in forfeits in the 50-18 win over Binghamton-Seton Catholic.

Senior Kamren Westbrook notched a 30-second fall for the Eagles at 144 pounds, while freshman Gabe Benjamin won a 17-2 technical fall at 157 pounds, and junior Korbin Brenza won a wild, 22-15, decision over B-SC's Francisco Perguero at 165.

Senior Rodney Vaow (138 pounds), juniors Cooper Zufall (175), Kaden Simms (190), and Connor Breed (215), and sophomores Dante Davis (132) and Kollen Westbrook (150) all received forfeits.

Cicero-North Syracuse 57, SVEC 13
The Eagles only won three bouts in a 57-13 loss to Cicero-North Syracuse.

Kamren Westbrook won by first-period fall at 150 pounds, while Benjamin scored a 21-4 technical fall at 157 pounds, and Zufall edged Carlos Adboud, 3-2 at 175 pounds.

SVEC 39, Cooperstown-Milford 30
SVEC won six of the 10 contested weight classes, including five by fall, to earn a 39-30 win over Cooperstown-Milford.

Vaow was the only SVEC wrestler to go a full six minutes, a 13-6 decision over Max Koffer at 138 pounds.

The Eagles notched three first-period falls with Sims registering the quickest pin in 35 seconds at 190 pounds. Breed needed just 55 seconds at 215 pounds, and Kamren Westbrook finished off his foe in 1:57.

The other two falls were scored by junior Jak Smith in 2:25 at 285 pounds, and Kollen Westbrook in 2:40 at 150 pounds.

Zufall received a forfeit at 175 pounds.

Deposit-Hancock 42, SVEC 22
Deposit-Hancock dominated on the mats, winning seven of the 10 contested weight classes in a 42-22 win over SVEC.

Breed scored a pin at 1:23 in the 215-pound match, and Benjamin had a fall at 2:12 at 157 pounds.

Vaow won a 9-1 major decision over Jason Canedo at 138 pounds, and Smith received a forfeit at 285 pounds.

Oneonta 39, SVEC 34
Oneonta picked up the only two forfeits of the match and that was the difference in a 39-34 win over SVEC.

Breed scored the only first-period fall of the match at 215 pounds for the Eagles, while Sims registered a second-period fall at 190, and Davis at 132 and Benjamin at 157 both notched third-period pins.

Vaow won a 20-5 technical fall at 138 pounds, and Zufall scored a 17-1 technical fall at 175 pounds.

SVEC, now 2-4, returns to action Wednesday when it hosts Schuyler.
