ELMIRA — Eric Schrader, Magavin Allen, Javan Belokur and Vincent Kneller recorded top-10 finishes at the Elmira Invitational here Friday and Saturday.
Schrader, a sophomore, was the team’s top performer. He placed third in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.06 and fifth in the 100 butterfly, clocking 1:00.68.
Magavin Allen was seventh in the 50 free with a time of 24.18 seconds and ninth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.08.
Javan Belokur shaved 7.63 seconds off his seed time in the 100 free, finishing seventh in 57.37 seconds. He was also 11th in the 200 free in 2:10.61, nearly six seconds faster than his seed time.
In the relays, Allen, Belokur and Schrader were joined by Vincent Kneller to take fourth in the 200 medley relay and seventh in the 200 free relay. The quartet recorded a time of 1:54.98 in the medley and 1:45.76 in the free. Their free relay time was more than 7 ½ seconds faster than their seed time and the medley was more than six seconds faster.
Also competing for the River Hawks were Padraig Allen, Tobin Reynolds, Stephen Gilmore and Dominic Scherrer.
Class B powerhouse Maine-Endwell won the team title with 364 points with Corning taking second with 259. Owego placed seventh with 78 points.
Owego returns to dual meet action Thursday at home against Oneonta.
