HS CROSS COUNTRY: OWEGO’S McHUGH RUNS TO 4TH AT NEW BALANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS (December 12, 2025)

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Owego senior Abigail McHugh competed in the New Balance RunningLane XC Championships held Saturday at the John Hunt Cross Country Running Park here.

She was one of only six girls from New York state to attend this event which included 777 girls and 1,375 boys. It was a cold wet and muddy day, but McHugh managed to place fourth in the Bronze divisional race with a time of 20 minutes flat.

Second through fourth places were separated by less than 3 ½ seconds with McHugh missing third by three-quarters of a second.
