IAC JV BASKETBALL: EDISON ROLLS PAST S-VE IN PANTHERS’ SEASON OPENER (December 11, 2025)

ELMIRA HEIGHTS — Edison scored 20 points in each of the first two quarters and four players finished in double figures scoring as the Spartans rolled to a 70-39 IAC JV boys basketball victory over Spencer-Van Etten here Wednesday evening.

Kamdyn Hall led the first-quarter surge with 10 points and Matt Zimmer added seven more as Edison worked a 20-5 advantage.

Hall and Ryan Dowden highlighted a 20-point effort in the second period with six points each as the Spartans built a 40-11 halftime cushion.

Landon Whitmarsh had four points for S-VE in the opening stanza and Cam Losey added four in the second..

The Panthers took the third quarter, 18-13, as Evan Combs and Damien Vellake pumped out five points each. Both players, plus Gabe McCracken and Taylor Vanderpoel, canned one 3-pointer each in the period.

Combs and McCracken paced S-VE with eight points each, and both players had two treys apiece. Losey contributed seven points, Whitmarsh added six points, Vellake finished with one three and five points, Vanderpoel canned one trey and Nate Ashcraft added a basket.

Hall led all scorers with 20 points, Jackson Irvin chipped in with 17, and Dowden and Matt Zimmer tacked on 13 each.

Dowden had a pair of treys while Hall, Irvin, Anthony Welch and Zimmer added one apiece.

S-VE visits Tioga Friday night.
