IAC BOYS BASKETBALL: S-VE FALLS INTO EARLY HOLE IN LOSS TO EDISON (December 11, 2025)

ELMIRA HEIGHTS — Spencer-Van Etten fell into an early hole and was unable to rally in a 70-55 IAC boys basketball loss to Edison here Wednesday night.
The Spartans jumped out to a 17-8 lead after one period of play with Marquis Bradley Jr. netting nine points.
The Panthers attempted to mount a comeback in the second quarter, outscoring their host, 18-14. Luukas Carling accounted for nine points for S-VE and Brayden Doyle had six for Edison.
The Spartans erupted for 20 third-quarter points to solidify their lead, building a 51-39 advantage as Bradley accounted for another nine points to offset nine more from Carling.
Carling scored another eight points in the final frame and Nick Oakes tacked on five, but a half-dozen Spartans found the inside of the rim to give Edison a 19-16 edge.
Carling led all scorers with 29 points, knocking down three 3-pointers in the process. Oakes added a pair of treys to finish with 13 points. Jackson Bennett contributed six points, Cameron Sundquist drained a 3-pointer, and Keith Hills, Noah Ingram and Tyler Tufford added two points apiece.
Bradley scored 23 to lead the Spartans, going 6-for-7 at the free throw line. Doyle hit three threes and ended up with a dozen points and Jha’Zhere Muniz added 10 more. Mark Cornacchio pitched in with eight points, Connor Lasko chipped in with six, Tanner Buchanan had four, Brenden Smith and Bentley Stroman added three apiece, and Braedyn Gulich tacked on two.
Edison improved to 2-1 with the win. S-VE (0-1) visits Tioga Friday night.
