IAC WRESTLING: NEWARK VALLEY PICKS UP ANOTHER LOPSIDED WIN (December 11, 2025)

TRUMANSBURG — The Newark Valley wrestling team cruised to another lopsided victory Wednesday, hammering Trumansburg, 78-6, in IAC crossover action here.

Coming off a 61-18 thumping of Moravia and a team title in the Larry Goodrich Memorial Invitational, the Cardinals racked up nine falls to improve to 2-0.

Wyatt Dillow posted NV’s quickest pin of the evening, decking Meng Ting Tsou in 16 seconds at 215 pounds. Cadin Creeley registered a fall in under one minute as well, dispatching Hunter Marshall in 45 seconds at 165.

The Cardinals’ other first-period falls came from Sheldon Houston over Nathaniel Cornwell in 1:27 at 110, Leland Houston against Wesley Millspaugh in 1:17 at 138, Logan Woodin over Caden Bonefede in 1:13 at 157, at 175 with Elijah Williams pinning Maximus Brown in 1:59 and at 190 with Titus Callahan posting a fall against Hayden Weatherby in 1:05.

Also contributing to the pin parade were Andrew Lelik at 126 with a fall in 3:07 against Brody McLennan in 3:07 and Logan Rhodes over Harvey King in 2:20 at 144.

Newark Valley’s Adam Kunze (103), Jacob Shipman (132), Marcos Escalante (150) and Jack Blomberg (285) collected forfeit victories.

Colt Doolittle scored T-burg’s only points with a fall in 3:38 at 118.

The Cardinals went 1-1 in JV matches with Kenny Slater pinning Doolittle in 1:30.

NV will compete in the Dave Buck Memorial at Elmira on Saturday.
