HS INDOOR TRACK & FIELD: CANDOR’S AMAN, OWEGO’S HEATH WIN AT SEASON OPENER (December 8, 2025)

ITHACA — Candor’s Logan Aman and Owego’s Gavin Heath picked up victories at the Ithaca College Bomber High School Invitational held at Glazer Arena here Sunday.
BOYS
Aman won the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.56 seconds to best 47 other competitors. Heath took the 600 in 1:25.8 in a field of 45 runners.
Owego coach John Heath noted that the 600 was “a really fast time for this early in the season.”
The Coyotes’ Charlie Hilbert came in eighth in the long jump with a distance of 19-3.25 meters while the River Hawks’ Trace Hall took eighth in the high jump, clearing 5-6.
Owego’s Neal Cox finished 12th in the high jump at 5-4 and 20th in the long jump at 17-7. Ryker Chrysler placed 16th in the 500 in 1:34.95 and Levi Saunders was 18th in the 600 in 5:17.62.
Aman was 12th in the 300, clocking 39.38 seconds, while Hilbert was 18th in the 55 dash (7.14 seconds) and 19th in the 300 (41.02 seconds).
Also placing in the top 20 were Owego’s 4x200 relay (6th, 1:40.43) and 4x800 relay (9th, 9:51.89), and Candor’s 4x400 relay (12th, 4:18.7) and 4x200 relay (17th, 1:55.9).
GIRLS
Candor’s Lindsey Morse claimed fifth-place in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.56 seconds.
The River Hawks’ Sarah Heath finished 14th in the triple jump, leaping 26-10 ¾ meters and 16th in the 600 with a time of 5:55.03.
The Coyotes’ 4x200 relay team was 17th in 2:19.56.
