SECTION IV GIRLS DIVING: OWEGO'S YOUNG WINS CLASS B TITLE; HEADED TO STATES (8 PHOTOS) (November 7, 2025)

ELMIRA — Owego sophomore Ayla Young handily won the Section IV, Class B Diving championship here Friday at the Ernie Davis Academy.

Young had an 11-dive score of 484.95 to win the 1-meter diving competition, with M-E's Leah Rozelle second with 376.05 points, and M-E's Jaqueline Blight third with 322.7 points.

Young, who topped the state standard earlier this season, also hit the state standard at the Class B meet.

Vestal's Olivia Tanton won the Class A title with 512.35 points, and Horseheads' Mackenzie Blauvelt was second with 454.5 — besting the state standard to qualify for the New York State Championships.

Watkins Glen's Saskia Dechow won the Class C title with a score of 320.2 points.

The N.Y. State Diving Championships will be held Nov. 21 at 1:20 p.m. at the Webster Aquatic Center.
