COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL: TIOGA COUNTY TRIO LEADS HARTWICK COLLEGE TO TWO MORE WINS (2025-10-28)

ONEONTA — Hartwick College won a pair of matches over the week to run its win streak to six, and a Tioga County trio — Candor grads Braelyn Hornick and Shelby Swartz, and Owego grad Sophia Palladino — played major roles once again.

On Friday, Hartwick swept Keuka College by scores of 25-21, 25-17, and 25-21.

Hornick had three service points — all aces, 29 setter assists, and seven digs, while Swartz had 6.5 points, including one ace, five kills, one block, one assist, and  14 digs, and Palladino had six points, six kills, and 10 digs.

On Saturday, Hartwick dropped the first set at Elmira College, 25-20, but answered with wins of 25-9, 25-22, and 25-21 for a 3-1 win.

Hornick registered seven points, including five aces, one kill, two blocks, 42 assists, and one dig, while Swartz had 11 points, 10 kills, two blocks, eight digs, and one assist. Palladino did not play.

Hartwick is 17-10 on the season, including an 8-1 mark in Empire 8 play.

The Hawks return to action Friday at Geneseo and SUNY Brockport Saturday.
