(UPDATED) IAC VOLLEYBALL: CANDOR SWEEPS NEWFIELD TO REPEAT AS SMALL SCHOOL CHAMPS (24 PHOTOS) (2025-10-25)
Tioga County Sports ReportDRYDEN — Candor swept Newfield for the third time this season, this time in the IAC Small School championship game here Friday night at Tompkins-Cortland Community College.
The Coyotes, who repeated as Small School champs, won by scores of 25-15, 25-16, and 25-9.
Jill Teribury led Candor with 20 service points, including five aces, and 12 digs, while Malley Heidl had nine points, three kills, 27 setter assists, and eight digs, and Nicola Soper had five points (three aces), 12 kills, and three digs.
Tracy Reynolds had seven points and four digs in the win, while Emmi Makie seven points (three aces), 16 kills, and five digs, Hazel Ray added two kills and two digs, and Ava Fernando chipped in with two kills.
Candor, now 14-1, awaits word on the Section IV, Class D playoffs, which will be announced Tuesday or Wednesday.
