STAC VOLLEYBALL: OWEGO DROPS FIVE-SETTER TO WINDSOR IN REGULAR-SEASON FINALE (2025-10-23)

OWEGO — Owego dropped a five-set marathon to Windsor in the regular-season finale here Thursday night in STAC volleyball action.

The Black Knights won the first set, 25-21, but the River Hawks answered with a 25-17 win in the second set.

Windsor took a 2-1 advantage with a 25-18 win in the third set, but Owego again had the answer, rolling to a 25-13 win in the fourth set.

Windsor closed out the win with a 15-10 decision in the decisive fifth set.

Both of Owego's losses — the other to Corning — were five-setters, while in its 13 wins, the River Hawks had 11 sweeps and lost just two sets.

Senior Maggie Hamed registered 20 kills, two blocks, and eight digs, and senior Bella Miller had 36 setter assists, three kills and three digs to lead Owego, and junior Alyssa Harrington had 11 kills and six digs.

Senior Peyton Coolbaugh added a team-high 18 digs for the River Hawks, while freshman Braelea McLaren recorded seven kills and seven digs, senior Evelyn Howe three kills, three blocks and two digs, and sophomore Ava McKeon recorded four digs and one block.

Owego returns to action Friday when it hosts Maine-Endwell in the semifinals of the STAC Championships.
