IAC VOLLEYBALL: TIOGA HANDS CANDOR FIRST LOSS IN REGULAR-SEASON FINALE (14 PHOTOS) (2025-10-20)
Tioga County Sports ReportCANDOR — Tioga denied Candor an unbeaten regular season with a 3-0 win here Monday night in the final IAC volleyball match heading into the postseason.
The Tigers, now 12-4, won by scores of 25-13, 25-18, and 25-24.
Emmi Makie led Candor with a triple-double of 16 points (three aces), 11 kills, and 12 digs, while Nicola Soper had 12 points, including seven aces, eight kills, and four digs, and Malley Heidl added 16 assists and four digs.
Jill Teribury had eight points and two digs for the Coyotes, while Hazel Ray added seven points, two kills, and six digs, and Tracy Reynolds chipped in with three points.
Alyson Chamberlain led Tioga with 15 service points, 11 setter assists, and four digs, while RaeAnne Feeko had seven kills, three blocks, 13 assists, and two digs, senior Audi Zorn had six points, three kills, four blocks, and six digs, Vida Rossi had six points, three kills, and four digs in the win, and Lilly Mezzatesta had two points, 12 kills, and 12 digs.
Candor, now 13-1, will square off with Newfield Friday at 6 p.m. in the IAC Small School Championship match at Tompkins-Cortland Community College.
V — Tioga 2, Candor 1: Tioga also handed Candor its first loss of the season in the junior varsity match, winning the first set 25-15 and the third set 25-19. In between, Candor won the second set, 25-20.
Ashlan Heidl led Candor with 10 points (seven aces), four kills, five assists and two digs, while Ava Anderson had seven points and three digs, Anna Kelsey had five points, three kills, and three digs, and Kaedyn Everhart had dour points, three kills, and seven digs.
Tori Hall had three points (two aces), two kills, five assists, and five digs in the win, while Ava Halstead recorded eight digs, and Lizzy Kunte added six digs.
Candor, now 13-1, will host Spencer-VanEtten for the Small School Championship on Wednesday. Start time is 6 p.m.
