THE SPORTS REPORTS STRIKE PARTNERSHIP WITH SHOWCASE (2025-10-19)

When I started
Valley Sports Report more than 16 years ago, the
goal was to spotlight and promote local athletes. It's still my mission
today and it's also why I've partnered with Showcase.
Showcase
is a product that is two-pronged: 1) a digital scrapbook and 2) a
college recruiting tool, almost like an athletic Linked-In page.
When
I was a young athlete (and I use that word loosely), my mother use to
clip articles from the newspapers, and put them in a scrapbook. I still
have it today, albeit yellowed from the aging process.
Obviously,
media is changing. The daily newspaper is dying and it's becoming
increasingly digital. The option of keeping article in a physical
scrapbook isn’t as easy as it once was.
Showcase, which is
part of Circle W Sports, makes it easy to store athletic memories in one
space for easy access. Pictures, videos, stats, and links to articles
all in one location and customizable for the perfect keepsake.
Showcase profile holders have access directly to the page designers to make sure their memories are stored exactly how they want.
Current
student-athletes like Troy standout Brendan Gilliland, and Towanda
four-sport standout Boom Thompson, among others, are already taking
advantage of Showcase.
For local athletes who desire to play at
the next level, Showcase serves as a perfect recruiting tool. No more
sending prospective coaches countless emails with clips and game film.
Simply send them one link and they have access to your
entire digital athletic resume, built and customized to put your best foot forward.
In addition, all
The Sports Reports’ sites will link all profile users so college coaches reading our stories will have easy access to you.
The Sports Reports
also benefits from each profile established. This helps us continue on
with our primary focus, giving local athletes the comprehensive coverage
their hard work and dedication deserves.
If Showcase had been
around in the early '80s, you can bet my mother would have taken
advantage of it. And, if I had been a good enough athlete to merit
consideration from college coaches or scouts, I definitely would have
used it.
