Tioga County Sports ReportNEWARK VALLEY — Afton-Harpursville broke open a close game in the third quarter with four goals on its way to a 5-0 win over Newark Valley here Friday afternoon in Section IV field hockey action.
Miranda Schultz netted a hat trick to pace the Knights, while Carly Bagg and Makenna Schultz each scored one goal.
A-H had a 16-1 advantage in shots-on-goal, and a 6-2 edge in penalty corners.
Ashleen Callahan recorded 11 saves in the cage for the Cardinals.
Newark Valley falls to 1-15 on the season.
