IAC VOLLEYBALL: S-VE FALLS TO NEWFIELD IN FOUR SETS (2025-10-17)

SPENCER — S-VE won the second set to even the match, but Newfield regrouped to win a pair of tightly-contested sets to pull out a four-set win here Friday night in IAC Small School Division volleyball action.

The Trojans opened the night with a 25-16 win in the first set, but the Panthers answered with a 25-17 win. Newfield won the final two sets 28-26 and 25-22.

Andy Wallace led S-VE with nine service points, including three aces, and 16 digs, while Trinity Ashley had eight points (three aces), five kills, two blocks, and six digs, and Kelsea Swayze had seven points (two aces), six digs, and 34 setter assists.

Amani Diboun recorded six points, 34 digs and three kills for the Panthers, while Madison Ashby had five points (three aces), three kills, and 15 digs, Lauren Gillette registered three points, 20 kills, one block, and eight digs, Elaina Middlebrook added four kills, one block, and three digs, Amma Neish chipped in with six digs, and Allison Oakes had one block.

S-VE returns to action Monday when it hosts Dryden.

JV — S-VE 2, Newfield 0: The Panthers swept the junior varsity match by scores of 25-10 and 25-19.

Lillie Horyczun led S-VE with 14 points, including nine aces, and six setter assists, while Riley Kock had nine points (seven aces) and four assists, Leah Neish had three points, three kills, and two digs, and Zoey Barton had four points and two digs.

Molly Rice had six points and five digs in the win, while Caitlyn O'Connor-Lay had three points and two kills, Hannah Rose had three points, Veronica Stone and Madison Emery each had two kills, Devorah Lau added two digs, and Kylee Stahl chipped in with one block.
