IAC BOYS SOCCER: NEWARK VALLEY BATTLES EDISON TO 1-1 TIE IN SEASON FINALE (16 PHOTOS) (2025-10-16) Tioga County Sports Report ELMIRA HEIGHTS — Newark Valley had the lead for nearly 50 minutes, but Thomas A. Edison scored late and the teams battled through overtime to settle for a 1-1 tie in the season finale here Thursday afternoon in IAC Large School boys soccer action.
Kam Tesseyman scored in the 29th minute, off an assist from Aiden Alger, to give the Cardinals a 1-0 lead, which it carried into the halftime intermission.
Edison battled back in the second half and tied it up with an Oliver Riffle goal in the 77th minute.
The final 12 1/2 minutes of regulation and the overtime session was dominated by the defenses, and keepers.
Austin Green recorded nine saves in net for the Cardinals.
