SECTION IV FIELD HOCKEY: FOURTH-QUARTER GOAL LIFTS TIOGA TO 1-0 WIN OVER NEWARK VALLEY IN SEASON FINALE (20 PHOTOS) (2025-10-16) Tioga County Sports Report NEWARK VALLEY — Tioga scored early in the fourth quarter to pull out a 1-0 season-ending win over Newark Valley here Thursday afternoon in Section IV field hockey action.
After three scoreless quarters, Taylor Sindoni was able to hit the tin in the back of the cage about five minutes into the fourth quarter off a penalty corner.
Newark Valley had a 6-4 edge in shots-on-goal, and a 5-4 edge in penalty corners.
Vangie Decker had six saves in the cage for the Tigers, and Ashleen Callahan had three saves for the Cardinals.
Newark Valley wraps up the season at 1-15, while Tioga finishes at 2-14.
