IAC VOLLEYBALL: EDISON PULLS OUT HARD-FOUGHT SWEEP OF NEWARK VALLEY; NV JVs WIN (2025-10-15)
Tioga County Sports ReportELMIRA HEIGHTS — Edison pulled out wins in the closely-contested first two sets on its way to a sweep of Newark Valley here Wednesday night in IAC Large School Volleyball action.
The Spartans won by scores of 26-25, 25-21, and 25-11.
Anaya Aylesworth led NV with seven kills and four digs, while Haven Aylesworth had five setter assists and four digs, and Rowan Veruto recorded eight digs.
Emilee Rhodes had five assists for the Cardinals, while Hailey Keith had five digs, Isla Hendrickson added four digs, and Adrianna Rich chipped in with three kills.
Newark Valley wraps up the regular season Thursday when it hosts Tioga.
JV — Newark Valley 2, Edison 0: The junior Cardinals swept the Spartans by scores of 25-23 and 25-14. Edison won an exhibition set, 25-15.
Alyssa Baldwin led NV with seven service aces and four assists, while Molly Hines had six aces and four kills, and Kaitlyn Keith had five aces, two kills, and five digs.
Shaine Anguish had three aces and three digs in the win, and Natalie Wandell recorded five assists.
