IAC GIRLS SOCCER: NEWARK VALLEY FALLS TO O-M, 3-2, IN FINAL SECONDS (2025-10-11)
Tioga County Sports ReportODESSA — O-M standout Leah Antes scored in the final seconds to lift the Grizzlies to a 3-2 win over Newark Valley here Friday night in IAC South girls soccer action.
Newark Valley opened the scoring with 26 minutes left in the first half when Iris McCloskey sent in a corner kick that curved and found its way into the net. The Cardinals carried the 1–0 lead into halftime.
O-M found the equalizer 15 minutes into the second half on a free kick from roughly 25 yards out by Avery Nolan.
Just three minutes later, they took the lead when Leah Antes finished from close range to make it 2–1.
Newark Valley refused to go away, mounting heavy pressure in the final minutes. Their persistence paid off when, during a corner kick sequence, they were awarded a penalty.
Aubrey Kwiatkowski stepped up and buried the PK to tie the game with just 1:26 remaining.
However, heartbreak followed for the Cardinals moments later. Odessa-Montour launched a long clearance that found Leah Antes, who drove toward goal and slipped a shot inside the near post, putting O-M ahead 3–2 with only 10.6 seconds left on the clock.
